A (different) Picos de Europa Walking Holiday

Are you thinking of coming to Picos de Europa for a bit of a walking holiday? Ever thought how much more enjoyable your walking holiday would be if you could speak a bit of the local lingo? Here are some ideas that can help you with planning your perfect walking and language learning holiday in Picos de Europa!

Peak Me offers Spanish courses that combine learning the language (normally through an intensive course), with other activities. Our most popular course is the Walk & Talk in Picos de Europa, which includes 5 days of language learning, with walking in Picos de Europa for four of those days (Friday is a recovery day, much appreciated by all our students!).

If you’ve ever considered walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, you also have a chance to do this. Our Camino Taster Course combines language learning, with a Camino flavour because we have developed materials around the topic, with walking on Camino trails (Camino del Norte and Camino Lebaniego). These walks are generally gentler, less steep than some of the quite demanding Picos walking.

But there are also other options! You could combine your language course with 5 outdoor sports and make one of the activities walking, so you could get a flavour or what it is like, without committing to four days of hiking. The other activities you could try range from canoeing, to doing a Via Ferrata… have a look at our Extreme Spanish Course for more details.

For either of these courses, you can come alone or with a friend or partner who’s not interested in the language aspect of the holiday (tut tut). And if your friend or partner is not interested in the walking in the Picos part, they could have a go at pottery, stained glass or tapestry making with a local artist, or four sessions of Yoga & Pilates (but not as you know it – have you ever tried SUP Pilates or Aeroyoga?).

Our trips are ideal for solo travellers too. Most of our students are, so chances are, you’ll be in great company. We like to boast about how nice and interesting our students are… because it’s true! We love their company and we think you’ll love it too.

Remember you can find information on the area, the school, and how to get here in our website and our FAQ section!

And of course, you can always press the “Enquire” button at the top of the page – we’re always happy to help!

¡Buen viaje!
