Camino de Santiago Taster with accommodation and transfers
The Camino de Santiago is one of the most famous, and well walked, pilgrim routes in the world. There are several recognised routes, and our school is located on the Northern path (Camino del Norte) and very near Camino Lebaniego and Vadiniense. We will teach you relevant Spanish in the mornings and take you to walk some of the classic sections of the Camino in the afternoons. The sections you will walk are less steep than most in the Picos de Europa and all have great views. We might take an occasional rest to eat and try the traditional local cider and cheese. Please note that this itinerary can be flipped so you can be walking in the morning and in class in the afternoons.
This course runs every week from Monday to Friday. Weekends are free for you to explore the area on your own, or we can help you with booking activities. The price includes:
Spanish intensive course with a maximum of 4 people, with enrolment, materials, level test if appropriate, notebook and pen.
Complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits during the lessons’ breaks.
Transport from your accommodation in Panes to the school in Abándames and back (1.4k, can also be walked, although it is steep getting here!).
Guided walks, Monday to Thursday.
Light lunch on Monday
Guided day out with picnic on Friday.
Transport in the area to and from walk destinations to Panes or Abándames.

7 nights’ accommodation in single use rural apartment with all mod-cons (daily cleaning is available for an extra €80) or in a family stay.
Santander return transfers from/to ferry port, train station or airport, Torrelavega train station, Llanes or Unquera, to your accommodation. We can also pick you up and drop you off at Bilbao ferry port or airport and other locations (at an extra cost). If you prefer to use public transport, we are happy to find the best way to get here, just let us know where you’re departing from!
For Saturday arrivals – pick up (from Santander ferry port, train station or airport, Torrelavega train station, Llanes or Unquera, to your accommodation).
For Sunday arrivals – pick up (Saturday arrivals have a free day to settle in and explore the village, go for a walk… Check out this for other ideas).
Monday: 4 lessons (50 min. each) + visit to local cider-producing farm, light lunch + local walk on ancient Camino trail.
Tuesday: 4 lessons + walk on Camino del Norte or Lebaniego.
Wednesday: 4 lessons + walk on Camino del Norte or Lebaniego.
Thursday: 4 lessons + walk on Camino del Norte or Lebaniego.
Friday: Help the bearded vulture conservation project at their home of the FCQ Foundation, do a gentle birdwatching walk and learn how Spain’s most expensive cheese is made in Vega de Ario cheesemakers’, visit the Sanctuary of Covadonga and the lively village of Cangas de Onís.
If you were to be on your own on any given week, you would have 2 individual lessons per day.
Friday evening: Farewell drink.
Saturday – drop off (for Saturday arrivals) or free day.
Sunday – drop off (for Sunday arrivals).

Please note that many accommodations are not available to book via online travel agents, that there is no Uber service or similar in the area and that navigating the local transport system is tricky!
